Soldiers to train along canal Thursday

Members of the Lincoln and Welland Regiment will conduct the army’s Battle Fitness Test Thursday evening along with Welland Canal.

Soldiers carrying 25 kilograms of equipment will be marching 13 kilometres along the canal. Following the march, they will perform a simulated casualty carry.

Members of the public may see soldiers dressed in combat clothing and equipped with helmets, rucksacks and rifles.

The rifles will not be loaded and the soldiers will not be carrying ammunition.
