They've been growing beautiful blooms since 1888.
"Four generations of our family have been in this business," said Bruce Vandersluys, owner of Dobbie's Florist. "We're very proud of our heritage."
The florist, located on Victoria Avenue, was once situated directly across the street and included three acres of greenhouses.
"A fire tore through the old building about 50 years ago," said Vandersluys. "So we rebuilt the store here."
Dobbies offers flowers for every occasion and is considered one of Niagara's oldest florist establishments.
To celebrate such a long stretch of history they will be holding an open house on June 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
"We're giving away lots of flowers," said Vandersluys. "One of the door prizes will be flowers for a year."
Flowers won't be the only door prize, there will also be $50 and $100 Sears gift certificates as well as different donations from various wholesalers.
Although Dobbies has been in the family for four generations, Vandersluys isn't sure whether or not his sons will take over the business after him.
"I have two sons in their 20s," said Vandersluys. "They don't seem very interested in the floral business right now. Maybe they will get married and their wives will like flowers."
