Come and celebrate the end of summer with family, friends, food and fun at the 5th annual Summerfest bash, sponsored by New Hope Church Niagara, Sunday Aug. 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Jordan Public School, Reg. Rd. 81 in Jordan.
Feast on barbecue ribs and chicken, a smorgasbord of salads, theatre-style popcorn and ice cream desserts.
Sit back and enjoy the sounds of live local rock, blues, country and kids musicians under the huge all-weather tent, as the kids enjoy goldfish races, a fishing pond, or romp in the giant bounce house.
Events include jousting for all ages, would-be-gladiator competitions, a Jell-O eating contest, and even a good ole' fashioned tug of war with a wet and sloppy twist.
Drop the wee ones off in the shaded, supervised play area and join the older kids in races of all kinds -- potato sack, three-legged, stilts, hula hoops, and more.
Leave your worries and wallet at home and join us -- rain or shine, says Nelli Page.
All activities, food and beverages are free of charge.
"Why, you ask?" she said. "Because life is meant to be lived and if you're not having fun doing it, then what's the point?"
"You'll find yourself laughing like you haven't in a long time as you celebrate the end of summer and look forward to the fall along with a myriad of friends you haven't yet met."
"Young and old, male and female, kids, seniors and everyone in between will find something to smile about at this year's Summerfest - our best yet," she added.
