Strawberry Festival AGM set for Sept. 11
Lincoln
Sep 05, 2008
It may be fair season, but the Beamsville Strawberry Festival Association is already starting to make plans for its festival next summer.

The association's annual meeting is on Thursday, Sept. 11th at 7 p.m. at the Lincoln Town Hall, 4800 South Service Rd., Beamsville.

The association encourages anyone who is looking for a fun, community minded organization to be a part of to come out to the meeting and see what they're all about. The Festival is a long standing tradition in Beamsville and is a highlight of the early summer months in town.

This year the Association is specifically in need of a secretary and volunteer coordinator. These jobs are not overly time consuming but can lighten the workload for other committee members, although you do not have to 'take on a position' to be a part of the committee. The election of board members for the coming year will take place as well.

Throughout the year the Association presents various fundraising events that are always well attended and have increased in popularity each year.

There is obviously more time commitment necessary with proximity to each event and the festival itself, however, at this point there is a minimal commitment required.

Inquiries can be directed to Barb Stones, Festival Coordinator at 905-563-7274 or Jane Gadsby, Assistant Festival Coordinator and Fundraising Chairperson at 905-562-5191.
