OPP blitz this weekend

Drivers hitting the road this weekend be forewarned: Ontario Provincial Police will be watching.

A new program set up called Operation Impact is aimed at saving lives for this upcoming long weekend.

OPP will be using all available resources for traffic patrol over the Thanksgiving Weekend. Operation Impact is a Canada-wide initiative aimed ensuring highway safety, the OPP said.

Police say they will be targeting aggressive drivers, impaired drivers and people who fail to use seatbelts and child-restraints.
