The Town of Pelham has an immediate need for reserve school crossing guards, to relieve the regular guards during periods of illness and vacation. The job pays $12.98 an hour. Applications are available at town hall in the opeations department.

Redeemed Goods, the thrift store operated by the Open Arms Mission, is hosting a bag sale from 10am-5pm. Bags containing clothing and other itmes all sold for $3 a bag. The store is located at 298 Crowland Ave.

"Bread, Salt and Friendship," an exhibit showcasing the Slovak community in Welland. Textiles, glassware, objects gathered from the community detailing the journey to Welland. Their story is told through numerous artefacts and photographs. This exhibit is now open and will run indefinitely. Also new at the museum is the exhibit "It all started with bottles," a showcase of historican George Chipman's collection of all things Welland.

Eastdale Eagles Extravaganza, at Eastdale Secondary School, 170 Wellington Street, in Welland - from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. The event will consist of a car wash, rummage/craft and bake sale, BBQ and raffles. All proceeds will be directed to support costs of new equipment and spirit-building activities.
