Smithville fairgoers will be able to get fresh local produce up until 2 p.m. this Saturday, as the Smithville Farmers' Market has extended its hours from 12:30.
Halaloo the Clown will also be making a guest appearance at the market, creating balloon animals to help raise funds for an upcoming mission trip.
The Smithville Farmers' Market operates out of a new location on Convenience Street every Saturday.
Opening at 7:30 a.m., the market offers fresh produce from local farmers, including preserves, meat, honey, flowers and baking.
The August 30 market day should be a busy one, as it happens to occur on the same weekend as the Smithville Fair, which will be showcasing the agricultural roots of the town from August 28-31.
The new location has been serving the market well since the grand opening held August 2.
White tents form a U-shape around the Convenience Street parking lot and it's easy for customers to make the rounds.
Market steering committee chair Albert Witteveen led the move to the new location, after spending three and a half years setting up at the Smithville Fairgrounds.
