The Town of Lincoln's Jordan Historical Museum is participating in the 8th Annual "May is Museum Month" Event.

Museum Month is a provincewide awareness campaign, featuring special events and exhibits offered to the public at museums, historic sites and art galleries all across Ontario. The month-long event supports International Museum Day, celebrated globally Friday, May 18.

The Town of Lincoln's Jordan Historical Museum is celebrating by bringing highlights of the artifact Collection to you, the community. Each week in May, a different artifact will be featured, and each artifact will be sponsored by a local business, emphasizing the grass-roots relationship your museum has in this municipality!

This week's sponsor is Pamela Mason of Santa Fe Lifestyles. She is shown with one of the first artifacts to have been given to the museum, back in 1952. Pam has recently moved her business to the building across from the museum, which was originally a doctor's house. The sign, made of tin, advertised "Dr. M.S. Beebe, Surgeon Dentist", and was found in a barn belonging to the Troup family, around 1840. The barn originally belonged to the Beebes.

Come on by to the museum and see more of what's on exhibit! Museum summer hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 10-5 pm. Admission is by donation. For more information, please go to www.lincoln.ca, and look under Recreation and Culture, or email us at museum@lincoln.ca.
