Donating blood helps save lives
Letters
Aug 27, 2008
Thank you Grimsby residents for your incredible support of the blood donor clinic on Wednesday August 13, 2008. Through your support we collected 156 units of blood. Considering that each unit donated has the power to help or save the lives of up to three people, your gift of blood has potentially helped 468 patients in need. Many of these patients will continue to count on your donations so that they can enjoy the summer with their own families.

A big thank you to the six people who made their first donation. Your actions have saved lives and you should be very proud. Please consider donating again in 56 days.

Thanks for the strong community support from the clinic volunteer leaders as well as the many volunteers who were on hand to look after the donors. As always, your efforts were greatly appreciated.

Sadly, one of our long term volunteers Bill Stubbs recently passed away, Bill volunteered with Canadian Blood Services for ten years and was a valued member of our team. Bill will be missed by the donors, staff and his fellow volunteers.

Please call 1 888 2 DONATE (1 888 236-6283) for information on donating blood.

Marcia McDonald, Community Development Coordinator Canadian Blood Services.
