Fort Erie's annual Heart and Stroke Big Bike fundraising event is back in town.
This year, eight teams are participating in the event to raise money to support the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
The Big Bike will roll out of the Kelsey's parking lot May 14 beginning at 4 p.m.
Teams of 29 will climb aboard Canada's only bicycle built for 30. Equipped with noisemakers, music and a lot of heart they will pedal on a two-kilometre route through their community. Members of the community are encouraged to support the event by pledging teams and cheering them on.
Last year, Fort Erie's event generated over $11,325. Since 2001, Fort Erie's Big Bike events have raised a total $108,760 to support the Niagara office of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
