Farmers market opens next weekend

On May 17 a new spin will be put on homegrown talent.
The new Ridgeway Farmers Market opens on the Saturday of the May long weekend.
An opening ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. and 50 patrons will receive free an eco-friendly shopping bags. There will also be other giveaways.
The market will be set up on Ridge Road in the parking lot adjacent to the Friendship Trail.
Parking will be available downtown, but environmentally friendly organizers encourage patrons to walk or bike along the Friendship Trail to attend the market.
The market supports local growers and a majority of the 15 vendors are from the Fort Erie area. There will be everything from fresh fruit and baked goods to meat, honey and eggs.
The market will be open 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
