The Grimsby Public Art Gallery will present Xtracurricular 2008 next week, featuring the work of students in Grades 9 to 12 from Beamsville, Grimsby and Blessed Trinity Secondary Schools.

Xtracurricular is an annual exhibition that features artwork by local high school students and their teachers.

It is the gallery's chance to showcase the work of the talented individuals that may be the next generation of regional artists.

This exhibition will include a wide range of artworks in a variety of media ranging from drawing and painting to printmaking, sculpture and photography.

This two-week endeavour represents a year's worth of learning. These students have explored their surroundings and manipulated their materials in order to transform a given project or set of guidelines into unique and meaningful works of art.

The exhibit will run from May 23 to June 8. The opening reception will go May 23 from 4 to 6 p.m.

The exhibit is generously sponsored by Dr. Charles Daly & Stuart Wilson Dental Care.
