Taxpayers, beware. The Town of Fort Erie staff report recommendation states the town work with an "unnamed" charitable organization to explore the possibility of the town leasing space if the charity purchases the Mentholatum building.

I am left with several questions:

1. What is the name of this charitable organization? Transparency, please!

2, What charitable organization has hundreds of thousands of dollars to spend on Building Code requirement and specifically, the new Fire Code of the province of Ontario. It really doesn't matter if they only pay a buck and love and have affection for the building -- this cost still remains.

3. What are the taxes on this white elephant and are they current?

4. Is the unnamed charitable organization in any way connected to the Town of Fort Erie? If so, we the taxpayer will be on the hook for costs either directly or indirectly.

Ask yourself, is this really where you want your tax dollars to go?
