A teen volunteer at the Women's Resource Centre is donating a piece she made in her woodworking class to the silent auction at the Centre's Saturday, Nov. 1 Fall Harvest Gala.
It may not be the most expensive item on the table, but it is in fact priceless because it represents the hearts of many young girls who are growing in confidence and maturity through their involvement with the centre programs.
"What a perfect opportunity to show the Town of Lincoln the way we're empowering young girls," says executive director Terri Della Manna.
Indomitable spirit and vision continue to lead the centre as it provides programming and support to women across Niagara West. The Friends of the Women's Resource Centre invite the community to help support the work and share an exciting evening Nov. 1 as the Centre rolls out the 4th annual Gala at Hernder Estate Winery. The doors open at 6 p.m. to a wide array of silent auction items generously donated by the community and local businesses. Dinner is at 6:30 p.m. and dancing will be a highlight of the night with "Swing Shift" featuring Lori Weldon, Laura Thomas and a collection of Niagara-based musicians and friends.
Tickets are $75. All proceeds from the event will be used for programs at the centre.

The centre continues to provide and expand programs geared to make a diference in the lives of women, child and youth in West Niagara through violence prevention, intervention and long term support.
